In response to the pandemic, Pinehills Golf Course and all staff and volunteers followed strict guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all attendees as they enjoyed their day of golf. Prior to each shot gun start, our Executive Director, Frank Heavey, thanked each group for their generous support during these unprecedented times and asked the golfers to “focus on what we can do, not what we can’t.” Heavey reminded everyone that their donations were giving all those impacted by cancer hope, which is needed more than ever right now.
Before heading out to the courses, attendees had the opportunity to participate in various contests including an opportunity drawing sponsored by Caesars Entertainment and the Golden Golf Ball Challenge sponsored by Chippo, all while enjoying a Goslings Dark n Stormy. A huge thank you to our event partners!
After playing through sun, clouds and then some rain, the golfers enjoyed food and drinks with their foursome on the patio of the clubhouse. We congratulate all players on their efforts on the course and would like to recognize three particularly impressive first place teams.

While this year’s tournament was quite different from past years, it was an amazing day spent with colleagues and friends raising an incredible $300,000 to provide hope to those impacted by cancer. Luci Strauss Garren, of Goldman Sachs and Vice President of the Expect Miracles' New York Young Professionals Leadership Team, shared that she was happy to participate in the East Coast Classic and proud of the Expect Miracles team for organizing a safe and fun event. She noted, “in these challenging times, it is more important than ever before to support cancer research and provide financial assistance for individuals and families following treatment.”
The great event would not have been possible without the generous support of volunteers who worked a long day, the incredible event partners, all our guests, sponsors, and donors. Thanks for another great tournament in support of our mission!
