Kid's Clinic 09

KID'S GOLF CLINIC IS A SWINGING SUCCESS
MFAC not only celebrated its 15th annual Expect Miracles Charity Golf Classic, but launched the event’s first Kid’s Golf Clinic. The Expect Miracles Golf Classic was blessed to have these amazing kids be a part of this wonderful day. The kids enjoyed a fun-filled day on the course as they learned to putt and drive from two golf professionals from Pinehills.

Highlights

The kids were warmly welcomed at the event banquet where Larry and Judith Theriault received the Guardian Angel scholarship for college. The highlight of the dinner included emcee John Dennis from WEEI and MFAC Chairman, Frank Strauss presenting all the kids with a special gift, Lance Armstrong’s best seller “It’s Not About the Bike: My Journey Back to Life.”

All the Golf Clinic participants and their families enjoyed an incredible evening with MFAC’s family, donors and supporters, who are inspired everyday by these amazing kids. Thank you Larry, Judith, Andrew, Jordan, and Luciano.

Jordan|Jordan Leandre—Jordan is an 8 year old cancer survivor of South Dennis, Mass. You might have seen Jordan at Fenway rubbing shoulders with our Red Sox players as he is the youngest person to sing the National Anthem at Fenway in the park’s long history. Jordan is a bit of a movie star as movie directors, the Farrelly Brothers, asked Jordan to sing the National Anthem for the movie “Fever Pitch” for the opening day sequence. Jordan loves to play baseball and golf.

Luciano|Luciano Quagliaroli—Luciano was the youngest participant in the Kid’s Golf Clinic. At only 6 years old, Luciano is currently battling cancer. Luciano joined the MFAC family back in 2008 when he and MFAC Chairman, Frank Strauss threw out the first pitch at the Red Sox game. Luciano was thrilled as he loves baseball and his favorite player is |Big Papi.|

andrew|Andrew Mackinlay—Andrew is 16 years old and a cancer survivor from Norwell, Mass. Andrew has achieved the most amazing feat and you probably have seen him on the local news as the youngest cancer survivor to ever ride in the Pan-Mass Challenge. Andrew loves basketball, football and baseball and looked like a pro on the golf course!

twins|Larry III and Judith Theriault—Larry & Judith are 17 year old twins of Peabody, Mass. who have both battled cancer. Larry loves to read & sing while Judith loves to dance & swim. Despite significant obstacles, they focus on what they can do, not what they can't. They thrive despite the uncertainties they face and the challenges life brings.
